12/15/2023

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) has been closed and detoured in both directions between Saulin Boulevard and Henderson Road for sinkhole repair in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County.

Southbound U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) was closed just after 7:00 PM tonight, following the discovery of a new sinkhole underneath the southbound travel lanes.

Northbound U.S. 202 between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard also remains closed between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard for additional sinkhole repair. This northbound section has been closed since early Thursday morning, December 14, following the discovery of a sinkhole in the right travel lane, just north of Henderson Road.

During the closure of northbound and southbound U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike), motorists will be directed to use Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard. Local access will be maintained for all residents and businesses.

U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) will remain closed until PennDOT engineers can further assess the extent of the new damage and develop a plan to fully repair and safely reopen the highway.
