U.S. 322, Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) Bridge Closed in Both Directions in West Goshen Township Due to Structural Damage Caused by Vehicle Strike

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that eastbound and westbound U.S. 322 and the bridge that carries Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) over U.S. 322 are closed and detoured due to structural damage sustained by a large vehicle strike at the bridge on Thursday morning.

U.S. 322 and the Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) bridge will remain closed in both directions until PennDOT bridge engineers and its contractor can make the necessary repairs to safely reopen both highways.

Motorists are advised of the following closures:

During the closures, motorists are advised to follow the posted detour routes.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

Built in 1955, the single-span, steel stringer Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) bridge over U.S. 322 is 77-feet-long, 80-feet-wide, and carries about 15,691 vehicles per day.
