PennDOT to Reopen Cayuga Street On-Ramp to U.S. 1 South (Roosevelt Expressway) Thursday in Philadelphia

01/05/2024

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the ramp from Cayuga Street to southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) in Philadelphia will reopen on Thursday afternoon, January 11.

A week or two after reopening, the ramp will close again for a short period so the contractor can install a fence along the southbound side of the viaduct. During this time, motorists will use the existing detour from Broad Street (Route 611), W Hunting Park Avenue, Wissahickon Avenue, then Abbotsford Avenue to the Fox Street on-ramp to southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway).

The Cayuga Street ramp was closed under PennDOT's substantially completed $100.6 million project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct over the SEPTA tracks and the Nicetown neighborhood of Philadelphia.
