PennDOT Reopens Route 100 Ramp to U.S. 322 East (West Chester Bypass) in West Goshen Township Following Bridge Repair

01/12/2024

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the ramp from Route 100 to eastbound U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) has reopened this evening in West Goshen Township, Chester County, following bridge repair.

The ramp had been closed since Thursday morning, December 21, after a large vehicle struck the Route 100 bridge over U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass). Both highways, except for the ramp to eastbound U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass), were reopened the following day.

PennDOT's contractor repaired the structure and a section of U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) where debris from the bridge strike had fallen onto the roadway; and removed the temporary support towers in place.

While the ramp from Route 100 to eastbound U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) has reopened, a traffic shift will remain in place on Route 100 over the expressway.

Built in 1955, the single-span, steel stringer Route 100 bridge over U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) is 77-feet-long, 80-feet-wide, and carries about 15,691 vehicles per day.
