Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that overhead sign installation will continue next week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) under the $100.6 million project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct over the SEPTA tracks and Nicetown neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, March 18, through Thursday, March 21, from 6:00 PM to 5:30 AM the following morning, a periodic single lane closure will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between 9th Street and Fox Street.
  • Monday, March 18, through Thursday, March 21, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM the following morning, a periodic single lane closure will be in place on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Fox Street and 9th Street.

The lane closures are needed so PennDOT's contractor can perform post-construction punch list activities to complete the Wayne Junction Viaduct project.
