03/28/2024

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that roadway construction is scheduled on Route 3 (Chestnut Street) in Philadelphia under a local safety improvement project beginning Monday, April 1.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
  • Monday, April 1, through early August, weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and periodically weeknights from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, Route 3 (Chestnut Street) will be reduced to one lane between 32nd Street and 33rd Street. During the travel restriction, bicyclists will be directed to use 33rd Street, Route 3 (Market Street) and 30th Street.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
