Construction Planned Next Thursday on I-95 North for CAP Project in Center City Philadelphia - Lombard Circle on-ramp to close Thursday

03/28/2024

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that lane and ramp closures are planned next Thursday on northbound Interstate 95 in Center City Philadelphia under the $329 million CAP project to replace and expand the covered area over the interstate.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

By replacing and extending the cap over I-95 and Columbus Boulevard between Chestnut and Walnut streets, the I-95 Central Access Philadelphia (CAP) Project will improve pedestrian and multimodal connections between Center City and the waterfront. The project has two main components: a new Park at Penn's Landing, and a new signature bridge at South Street, both of which will also extend over Columbus Boulevard to connect cyclists and pedestrians to the newly completed Delaware River Trail.

Additional project details, construction updates, project detours and other information are available at www.95revive.com and parkatpennslanding.com.
