Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways in Delaware. Montgomery, Philadelphia Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are scheduled on several state highways in Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Delaware County

  • Sunday, April 14, through Friday, April 19, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Concord Road between Bethel Road and U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in Aston, Concord, Chester, and Bethel townships for paving.
  • Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Concord Road between Bethel Road and U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in Aston, Concord, Chester, and Bethel townships for utility adjustments.
  • Sunday, April 14, through Friday, April 19, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Engle Street between 9th Street and Concord Road in Chester Township for milling and paving.
  • Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Engle Street between 9th Street and Concord Road in Chester Township for utility adjustments.
  • Sunday, April 14, through Friday, April 19, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 352 (Edgmont Avenue) between 9th Street and Ridge Boulevard in Parkside and Brookhaven boroughs and City of Chester for milling and paving.
  • Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 352 (Edgmont Avenue) between 9th Street and Ridge Boulevard in Parkside and Brookhaven boroughs and City of Chester for utility adjustments.
  • Monday, April 22, through early May, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a moving lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Route 252 (Newtown Street Road) between Gradyville Road and the Chester County Line in Newtown Township for crack sealing operations.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, April 14, through Friday, April 19, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Upper Ridge Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Route 63 (Main Street) in Green Lane Borough and Marlborough Township for milling and paving.
  • Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lance closure is scheduled on Bala Avenue between U.S. 1 (City Avenue) and Route 23 (Montgomery Avenue) in Lower Merion Township for milling and paving.
  • Tuesday, April 16, through Friday, April 19, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Barren Hill Road between Ridge Pike and Hector Road in Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving.

Philadelphia

  • Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Walnut Street between 33rd Street and 63rd Street (Cobbs Creek Parkway) for line striping.
  • Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Allegheny Avenue between Ridge Avenue and Kensington Avenue for speed humps.
  • Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following mooring, a lane closure is scheduled on Aramingo Avenue between York Street and Wheatsheaf Lane for line striping.
  • Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Castor Avenue between U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Richmond Street for line striping.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
