Bridge Inspections Scheduled on I-95, I-76 and Several Other State Highways in Philadelphia, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspections are scheduled on Interstate I-95, I-76, and several other state highways in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Philadelphia

  • Monday, April 15, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the Girard Avenue and the Spring Garden interchanges.
  • Monday, April 15, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the Girard Avenue and the Montgomery Drive interchanges.
  • Tuesday, April 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the Bartram Avenue ramp to northbound I-95.
  • Wednesday, April 17, and Thursday, April 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 at the Enterprise Avenue Interchange.
  • Monday, April 15, through Wednesday, April 17, from 9:AM to 2:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the I-76 West/Valley Forge and the Route 611 (Broad Street) interchanges.
  • Thursday, April 18, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard and the I-676 interchanges.

Montgomery County

  • Tuesday, April 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-476 between the I-76 and Ridge Pike interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough and Plymouth Township.
  • Wednesday, April 17, and Thursday, April 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a moving lane closure is scheduled on the westbound I-76 ramp to U.S. 202 in Upper Merion Township.
  • Wednesday, April 17, and Thursday, April 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a moving lane closure is scheduled in both directions on I-76 between the U.S. 202 North and the Gulph Mills interchanges in Upper Merion Township.
  • Wednesday, April 17, and Thursday, April 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a moving lane closure is scheduled on the northbound U.S. 202 ramp to eastbound I-76 in Upper Merion Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
