King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that A.P. Construction, Inc. will continue bridge construction of the St. Joseph’s University pedestrian bridge on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, April 15, through Saturday, May 11, U.S. 1 (City Avenue) will be reduced 24/7 to a single lane in each direction between 59th Street and Lapsley Lane. Traffic will be shifted to accommodate the new pattern.
- Monday, April 15, through Saturday, May 11, a 24/7 closure is scheduled on Cardinal Avenue between U.S. 1 (City Avenue) and Overbrook Avenue/Wynnefield Avenue. During the closure, motorists will use 59th Street, Overbrook Avenue, Wynnefield Avenue, and 54th.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
