Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways in Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are scheduled on several state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Bucks County

  • Monday, May 6, through Tuesday, May 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekday periodic lane closures are scheduled on Worthington Mill Road between Route 232 (Second Street Pike) and Swamp Road in Wrightstown & Northampton Townships for milling and paving.

Chester County

  • Monday, April 29, through Thursday, May 2, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 796 (Jennersville Road) between Route 896 (Newark Road) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in New London, Penn, and Londonderry townships for milling and base repair.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, April 28, through Thursday, May 2, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Dutton Mill Road between Route 452 (Pennell Road) and Route 352 (Edgmont Avenue) in Middletown and Aston townships and Brookhaven Borough for milling and paving.
  • Sunday, April 28, through Thursday, May 2, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Calcon Hook Road between Hook Road and U.S. 13 (Chester Pike) in Sharon Hill Borough and Darby Township for milling and paving.
  • Sunday, April 28, through Thursday, May 2, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Hook Road between the Delaware County line and Calcon Hook Road in Darby Township for milling and paving.
  • Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Dutton Mill Road between Route 452 (Pennell Road) and Route 352 (Edgmont Avenue) in Middletown and Aston townships and Brookhaven Borough for utility adjustments.

  • Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Hook Road between the Delaware County line and Calcon Hook Road in Darby Township for utility adjustments.
  • Monday, April 29, through Thursday, May 2, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on South Avenue between U.S. 13 (Chester Pike) and Franklin Avenue in Glenolden Borough and Ridley Township for milling and paving.
  • Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on South Avenue between U.S. 13 (Chester Pike) and Franklin Avenue in Glenolden Borough and Ridley Township for utility adjustments.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, April 28, through Tuesday, April 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Barren Hill Road between Ridge Pike and Hector Road in Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving.
  • Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Joshua Road/Lafayette Avenue between Cedar Grove Road and Morris Road in Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving.
  • Tuesday, April 30, through Friday, May 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Stenton Avenue/Penllyn Blue Bell Pike between the Norfolk Southern railroad bridge and Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in Whitpain and Whitemarsh townships for milling and paving.

Philadelphia

  • Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Walnut Street between 33rd Street and 63rd Street (Cobbs Creek Parkway) for line striping.
  • Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following mooring, a lane closure is scheduled on Aramingo Avenue between York Street and Wheatsheaf Lane for line striping.
  • Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Castor Avenue between U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Richmond Street for line striping.
  • Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Allegheny Avenue between Ridge Avenue and Kensington Avenue for speed hump installation.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
