Pavement Patching on Multiple Routes Will Start in Cambria County

07/26/2023

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that Quaker Sales, Inc., of Johnstown, will begin an improvements project on Monday, July 31, 2023, that involves several roadways across Cambria County.

On Monday, the contractor will start pavement patching work on any one of these roadways: Route 4004 (Deveaux Street) in West Carroll Township, Route 4021 (Spangler Street) in Northern Cambria, and Route 4022 (Pine Road) in Elder. This work will be done under short-term flagging operations with traffic reduced to one lane.

Other roadways to receive pavement patching as part of this project include Route 4001 in Barr and Blacklick townships, Route 4025 (Lion Road) in Hastings Borough, Route 4027 (Double Dam Road), and U.S. 219 in Susquehanna Township. Start dates for these areas have yet to be determined.

Minimal delays are anticipated. Motorists are strongly advised to use caution, drive slowly, and obey all traffic signs and flaggers. They also should drive without distractions and watch for construction personnel and vehicles.

The $1.8 million project is weather dependent and work on all roadways is expected to be completed by mid-October 2023.
