Several Miles of Pavement Preservation Beginning on Route 1036 (Six Mile Run/Broad Street) in Bedford County

07/27/2023

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that Grannas Bros. Stone and Asphalt Co., Inc., of Hollidaysburg, is ready to start pavement preservation work Monday, July 31, 2023, on Route 1036 (Six Mile Run/Broad Street) in Broad Top and Snake Spring townships, and Coaldale Borough, Bedford County.

The work will take place on 6.7 miles of Route 1036 (Six Mile Run/Broad Street) from Route 26 (Raystown Road) to the Huntingdon County Line under short-term traffic control by flaggers. The project includes pipe replacements, new inlets and rock, as well as milling and paving of the roadway and shoulder. Additionally, structure work is planned for Route 1005 (Lower Snake Spring Road) which involves saw-cutting joints, milling and paving.

Minor delays are expected, and all work is to be completed by the beginning of September. As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from flaggers.

This $1.35 million project is not weather dependent.
