Route 160 (South Wilmore Road) Bridge Replacement to Start in Cambria County

08/01/2023

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that Charles J. Merlo, Inc., of Mineral Point, will begin work to replace a bridge on Route 160 (South Wilmore Road) Tuesday, August 8, 2023, in Summerhill Township, Cambria County.

Traffic will follow a detour that starts on Tuesday using Route 53 (Railroad Street), Route 219, and U.S. 22. This 20-mile detour will be active through August 23. Additionally, a one-day, 18-mile detour will be in place on August 23 that follows T-416 (Willow Beach Road) to Route 160 (S. Wilmore Road) to Evergreen Road while the intersection with T-416 (Willow Beach Road) is reconstructed.

The contractor will replace the current box culvert that carries Route 160 (S. Wilmore Road) over Settlemyers Run with a new precast concrete box culvert. The project also includes roadway approach work and guiderail upgrades.

The $4.6 million project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2023 and is not weather dependent.
