​Route 86 Paving and Culvert Project

Above is a map showing the location of the box culvert that will be replaced as part of the Route 86 project. 

Project Overview

This project includes resurfacing approximately 8.5 miles of Route 86 from Oak Street in the City of Meadville to Henry Road in Cambridge Springs Township. Work will also include drainage and guiderail updates, shoulder backup, side road and driveway adjustments as needed and select tree trimming.

Additionally, there will be the replacement of a box culvert located on Route 86 between the intersection with of Morris Road and the intersection with Craig Road near The Country Club of Meadville in Woodcock Township.

Work is expected to occur during the 2024 construction season.

Traffic Impact

Route 886 is expected to be closed for approximately five days during the replacement of the culvert. A 9.4-mile detour will be posted using Route 27, Park Avenue (Route 1001), Route 322, Route 6, and Route 198. A map of the detour route is included in the project handout included below. 

During the portion of the project, traffic will be restricted to one lane controlled by flaggers.
