Sassafras Street Extension Intersection

Project Overview

Improvements at the intersection of Sassafras Street Extension and the Bayfront Parkway are expected to be included in Phase 1 of the project, happening in 2023 and 2024. 

Improvements will include construction of the multi-lane roundabout, and completion of missing links within the multi-use trail on the waterfront side of the parkway and along Sassafras Street Extension leading toward the lake.

Also pictured in this rendering above are West Front Street Improvements and upgrades to the Sassafras Street sidewalk on the city side of the parkway. Those projects are under the jurisdiction of the Erie Western PA Port Authority.
