Georgetown Road Bridge in Venango County

Project Overview

This project is to preserve the bridge that carries Georgetown Road over Interstate 80 in Irwin Township, Venango County.

The bridge is located on Georgetown Road (Route 3003) approximately a half mile north of the intersection with Route 208 (Clintonville Road).

The project includes milling and resurfacing the bridge's concrete deck, as well as concrete repairs to the beams and piers. Work will also include guiderail updates.

The existing concrete spread box beam bridge was built in 1965. It is classified as fair condition. Approximately 640 vehicles a day use the bridge, on average.

Work is expected to occur during the 2024 construction season.

Traffic Impacts

A detour will be required during construction and is expected to be in place for approximately two months. The proposed 8.7-mile detour route will be posted using Old Route 8 Road (Route 3013), Route 8, and Route 208. A map is included in the project handout available below.
