Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a portion of Route 54 will be closed this week in Danville Borough, Montour County, for inspection and maintenance of the tunnel that carries Route 54 under local roadways.

On Thursday, October 26, 2023, Route 54 will be closed in both directions between Front Street and Mahoning Street, while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation maintenance crew performs an inspection and maintenance work on the tunnel. 

A detour using Route 11, Route 2054 (Mill Street), and Front Street will be in place while work is being performed. Work will be performed between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution.
