Motorists are advised that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and Bridging Pennsylvania Constructors (BPC) are announcing lane restrictions on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound as part of the I-81 Susquehanna Bridges Project. Work will take place Saturday, July 27th, 2024 through Friday, September 13, 2024, between MM 223.6 and MM 232.7 from New Milford to Great Bend for paving, guide rail repair, and bridge beam installation and maintenance between 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

There will be lane restrictions on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound to perform surveys of pavement surfaces between mile markers 191.0 and 190.5 in Dickson City. Work will take place between the hours of Monday, July 22, to Friday, July 24, 2024, between the hours of 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route to avoid traffic delays. Work is weather-dependent.

There will be lane restrictions on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound to perform bridge inspections. Work will take place as follows between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

There will be temporary detours as part of the Interstate 81 mill and fill project in Dickson City. Work will take place daily from 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM. Please see the District 4 Traffic Bulletin for updates, as all work is weather-dependent.

Today, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) partnered with the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Lackawanna/Pike County Safety Program, Pike County Public Safety, Pike County Humane Society, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Emergency Responder Safety Institute, Victims Intervention Program and Pike County Human Resources to promote safe driving during the summer season during a safety day at the Welcome Center located in Matamoras, Pike County. The event featured safety activities and provided visitors with summer travel tips

Route 1012 in Jackson Township, Luzerne County will be closed beginning Monday, July 15, 2024 for a culvert replacement project. Work is expected to be completed the first week of August 2024. The detour is as follows: Route 29 to US 11 and then Mountain Road to Chase Road.

Exit 26 (Tafton/Promised Land State Park) from Interstate 84 eastbound will be closed beginning July 9, 2024, through the third week of July to install drainage pipes. A local detour will be in place. Work is weather-dependent.

There will be lane restrictions on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound from Exit 206 (Glenwood/Lenoxville) to Exit 223 (New Milford/Lakeside) in Susquehanna County for guiderail repair. Work will take place Monday, July 8, 2024, to Friday July 12, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Dunmore, PA – Interstate 84 eastbound and westbound is closed from US Route 6 (Milford) to Route 739 (Dingmans Ferry/Lords valley) in Pike County due to a vehicle fire. The estimated reopening is to be determined.
