This section of SB Route 34, also designated Route 849, was closed for bridge repairs
Harrisburg, PA – Motorists in Perry County are advised southbound Route 34 is now open to traffic between Mulberry Street and Bloomfield Avenue in Newport Borough. This section of roadway is also designated Route 849. The closure was needed so emergency repairs could be made to the bridge spanning Little Buffalo Creek.
The detour in place since the road was closed has been lifted.
