Contractor to perform steel repairs Tuesday and Wednesday

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that daytime lane restrictions will be implemented next week in both directions on the Interstate 83 John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River between Cumberland and Dauphin counties. The restrictions are needed so a contractor can perform steel repairs on the bridge.

Weather permitting, work will be performed Tuesday, February 21, and Wednesday, February 22.

The northbound I-83 right lane will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Three lanes will remain open, with the exit lane to 2nd Street being closed. The 2nd Street Exit will be open.

The southbound I-83 right lane will be closed from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Two lanes of traffic will remain open.
