Bridge Replacement Project to Begin on Route 997 in Quincy Township, Franklin County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin next week on Route 997 in Quincy Township, Franklin County. The bridge spans the West branch of Antietam Creek between Mont Alto Road (Route 2031) and Orchard Drive near Mont Alto Borough.

Weather permitting, the bridge will be closed Monday, April17. A detour will be in place using Mont Alto Road and Route 30.

This project includes replacing the existing single span concrete slab bridge with a precast reinforced concrete box culvert

Work is expected to be completed by June 9.

This is part of a two-bridge project that includes replacing a bridge on Mont Alto Road (Route 2031) in Guilford Township. That bridge was completed in January.

Doli Construction Corporation of Chalfont, PA, is the prime contractor on this $836,018 project.
