PennDOT Plans to Reopen Flemington Bridge on September 25

08/25/2023

Lock Haven, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that it plans to reopen one lane of the Flemington Bridge along Route 150 near Lock Haven on Monday, September 25. PennDOT appreciates the community's patience as work continues to improve this critical piece of infrastructure.

The official detour route during this closure uses Route 150, Route 2015 (Mill Hall Road), Route 220, and Route 120. PennDOT chose this detour route because it can accommodate the increased traffic volume and is the safest alternative. PennDOT urges drivers to follow it and avoid taking other local roads.

PennDOT has been in contact with the transportation director at Central Mountain High School, and they are prepared to start the school year with the bridge closed to traffic. PennDOT urged caregivers to speak with students who drive to school about the importance of building extra time into their travel schedules, exercising caution in this and all school zones, following the posted detour route, obeying posted speed limit signs, and always buckling up.

All businesses along High Street to the Smith Car Wash remain open, as do those along Hogan Boulevard to Rey Azteca restaurant.

PennDOT will place temporary traffic signals at each end of the bridge when it reopens the structure to one lane on September 25. They will enforce an alternating traffic pattern where drivers take turns crossing the bridge via the open lane.
