PennDOT Confirms Flemington Bridge to Reopen Monday Afternoon

09/22/2023

Lock Haven, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) confirmed that it will reopen one lane of the Flemington Bridge along Route 150 near Lock Haven by 1:00 PM Monday, September 25. PennDOT closed the bridge to traffic in June as part of a bridge preservation project that will extend the life of this and two other structures in Clinton County.

On Monday morning, the contractor will install guide rail and place temporary traffic signals at each end of the bridge in preparation to reopen one lane by 1:00 PM. The temporary traffic signals will enforce an alternating traffic pattern that will see drivers take turns crossing the bridge via the open lane.

PennDOT contacted the transportation director at Central Mountain High School to update them on the schedule. Busses will follow the detour for school arrival and utilize the bridge for dismissal. The bridge will remain closed to Pedestrians during this phase of the construction.

Detour signage directing commercial vehicle traffic onto Route 150, Route 2015 (Mill Hall Road), Route 220, and Route 120 remains in place.

A Route 150 bridge spanning Chatham Run in Dunnstable Township and a Route 220 bridge spanning Route 2006 and Fishing Creek in Lamar Township also saw work as part of this project. Work on those bridges is complete.

HRI, Inc. of State College, PA, is the contractor for this $3.5 million job. PennDOT anticipates reopening to two-way traffic by Thanksgiving.
