Crane Demobilization to Close College Avenue in State College

01/03/2024

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a crane demobilization at the site of the Hetzel Street high-rise apartment building will close College Avenue between Route 3014 (Atherton Street) and Route 3022 (University Drive) for a period of five days.

Massaro Construction Group of Pittsburgh plans to implement a detour using Atherton Street, Route 3007 (Park Avenue), and Route 3022 (University Drive) starting Tuesday, January 9. They intend to lift the detour by Saturday, January 13. If work progress allows, Massaro may open sooner.

Student housing residents will be granted access to their apartments by way of Hetzel Street.

A private third party is completing this work. It is not associated with a PennDOT project.
