PennDOT District 2 Lifts Most of its Flooding Related Closures

04/04/2024

Clearfield, PA – Following heavy rains that fell across the state yesterday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) in District 2 announced it has reopened most of the roads it closed due to flooding. The closures that remain in effect are as follows:

Centre County:

  • Route 2012 (Penns Creek Road) in Penn Township between the intersections of Greenbriar Gap/Paradise Road and 1st Alley.

Clinton County:

  • Route 4001 (Kettle Creek Road) between the intersections of One Forty Fourth Street and Kettle Creek Road in Leidy and Noyes townships.
  • Route 4002 (Keating Road) in East Keating Township between the intersections of Route 120 and Vincent Drive.

Mifflin County:

  • Route 103 in Wayne Township between the intersection of Bridge Street and Sugar Ridge Road.

PennDOT will issue another update tomorrow as department forces work to reopen these closed roadways. It cautions motorists to never drive through flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car. Anyone who drives around barriers intended to close a road can face increased penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue motorists who disregard traffic control signs.

Motorists are encouraged to “Know Before They Go" by checking conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
