PennDOT Announces Start Date for Clinton County Bridge Project

04/12/2024

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced a start date of Monday, April 15, for a bridge replacement project along Laurel Run Road (Route 2019) in Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County. The bridge spans Laurel Run approximately two miles west of Mill Hall Borough and replacing it will improve the structure's overall condition rating from fair to good.

The contractor will begin preliminary work to excavate the site on Monday, April 15. Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control during daylight hours while preliminary work occurs. PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution in this and all work zones, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.

PennDOT will close the bridge on Monday, May 6, and implement a detour while the contractor works to demolish and replace the structure. While the bridge is closed, drivers will follow a detour using Bald Eagle Valley Road (Route 150), Lusk Run Road (Route 2020), Susquehanna Avenue (Route 120), and Sugar Run Road (Route 2022) to reconnect with Laurel Run Road.

Francis J. Palo, Inc. of Clarion, PA, is the contractor on this $1.2 million project. PennDOT anticipates completion in late October, but all work is weather dependent.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
