Norfolk Southern to Close Rail Crossing on Farrandsville Road

​Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Norfolk Southern will close a railroad crossing along Farrandsville (Road Route 1001) in Colebrook Township, Clinton County, tomorrow. The crossing is located at the curve in Farrandsville and will be closed for approximately six hours while Norfolk Southern makes emergency repairs to the crossing.

Crews will wait until all busses have completed their runs before closing the crossing and reopen the road prior to dismissal.

Local law enforcement and emergency services have been notified of the closure and have contingency plans in place.

PennDOT reminds motorists to use caution near the work zone, remain alert for railroad operators and equipment, approach railroad crossings carefully, and “always expect a train."
