PennDOT to Replace Drainage Pipe Along Route 255 in DuBois

05/08/2024

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that work to replace a failing drainage pipe along Bee Line Highway (Route 255) in Sandy Township, Clearfield County, is set to begin Monday, May 13. Replacing the pipe will prevent damage to the pavement surface and the area underneath as well as enhance driver safety by reducing the potential for flooding.

The pipe being replaced is located approximately 1,500 feet north of the intersection of Bee Line Highway and Shaffer Road near the entrance to the DuBois Mall. The contractor plans to complete this work between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM daily to minimize traffic impacts for drivers entering or exiting the mall via this entrance. During working hours, flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control. During off hours, traffic will be reduced to a single lane.

PennDOT anticipates work to replace this pipe being complete by June. It may reopen the roadway sooner if work progress allows. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
