​Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists in Lycoming County that the bridge, also known as Iron bridge, carrying Route 414 over the Pine Creek, in Brown Township, Lycoming County, will be restricted to 32 Tons, Except Combinations 40 Tons. The bridge is located approximately 1.2 miles north of Slate Run.

The restriction is being made based on a recent inspection indicating that the truss floor beam system is deficient and cannot carry legal loads safely.

School buses, emergency vehicles, and local-delivery trucks are below the posted load limit and will therefore be able to cross the structure one truck at a time.

The restriction will be in effect once the required signs are erected by a PennDOT maintenance crew in the near future.
