Bridge Inspections Next Week in Union and Northumberland Counties

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a bridge inspection project is scheduled to begin next week on the Route 45 (Lewisburg River Bridge) between Lewisburg Borough, Union County and West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland Borough and the Route 642 bridges over the West Branch Susquehanna River between Milton Borough, Northumberland County and Kelly Township, Union County.

The week of Monday, March 25, 2024, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) contractor will be performing bridge sounding work in preparation for an upcoming bridge preservation project.

Work will take place between daylight hours, weather permitting, and is expected to take one week to complete. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed and are urged to drive with caution in the area.
