03/22/2024

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a multi-year reconstruction project continues next week on Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound between Danville, Montour County and Limestoneville, Northumberland County.

On Sunday, March 24, 2024, the contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, will begin placing roadwork signs on Interstate 80 in both directions between Exit 242 (Route 54 / Danville) in Montour County and Exit 215 (Route 254 / Limestonville) in Northumberland County. Motorists can expect moving lane restrictions where work is being performed.

On Monday, April 1, 2024, the contractor will perform line painting on Interstate 80 westbound in preparation for shifting traffic. When traffic has been shifted from the work area, the contractor will begin reconstruction of the westbound concrete road and shoulders between Exit 215 and Klondike Road Bridge, as well as the bridges that carry Interstate 80 over Narehood Road in Montour County.

Motorists can expect nightly lane restrictions between the hours of 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM Sunday through Friday.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for stopped or slow-moving vehicle, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.

Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $53,138,380 project. Work includes roadway reconstruction, resurfacing, structure replacement, rehabilitation, preservation, lighting, and other miscellaneous work. This multi-year project is expected to be completed in 2027.
