Mill and Resurfacing Project Set to Begin Next Week on Routes 44 and 3003 in Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a roadway and bridge replacement project is set to begin next week on Routes 44 (Main Street) and 3003 (Main Street/River Road) in both directions in Jersey Shore Borough and Porter, Piatt, and Nippenose townships in Lycoming County.

On Monday, April 15, 2024, the contractor, HRI Inc., will begin preparations to resurface Routes 44 and 3003 between Route 220 and the Jersey Shore Borough and Porter Township Line. This project also includes the replacement of the bridge over Lawshe Run on Main Street within the Borough of Jersey Shore.

Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions with flaggers where work is being performed.

Beginning Monday, July 8, 2024, through Friday September 27, 2024, a detour will be implemented during the bridge replacement over Lawshe Run using Routes 220, 3027 (Thomas Street) and 3028 (Allegheny Street).  

Work on this project will be performed primarily between Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM daily.

HRI. Inc. is the primary contractor for this $4,992,927.00 roadway resurfacing project.  Work on this project includes mill and resurface of approx. 1.0 mile of roadway on Routes 44 and 3003 including a portion of the on and off ramps of Route 220 at Main Street, guide rail upgrades, drainage upgrades, sewer line relocation, ADA curb ramps, and pavement markings. Additional work on this project includes bridge replacement, bridge deck repairs, neoprene strip seal glad replacement and epoxy overlay. These bridges span over Lawshe Run, over Route 220 and over the Susquehanna River.  Work on this project is expected to be completed in late October, 2024.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.
