Montoursville, PA – Motorists who travel Route 487 are advised that a controlled burn will take place next weekend in Ralpho Township, Northumberland County.

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, the Elysburg Fire Department will be performing a controlled burn at 372 Route 487, Elysburg, which is located to the east of the former Boyers Market.  Motorists can expect the westbound shoulder to be restricted due to fire department equipment in the area. 

The controlled burn will take place between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, weather permitting.  Motorists should be alert, slow down, watch for slow or stopped vehicles, and drive with caution through the area.
