Bridge Preservation Project to Begin Next Week on Montour Boulevard in Bloomsburg, Columbia County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a bridge preservation project is set to begin next week on the bridges that carry Route 11 (Montour Boulevard) over Fishing Creek in the Town of Bloomsburg, Columbia County.

Starting on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the contractor, Spartan Contracting, will begin placing work zone signs, equipment, and preparing to begin sand blasting the steel members of the bridges over Fishing Creek. Motorists traveling Route 11 northbound can expect the shoulder to be restricted. Route 11 southbound traffic can expect the right (driving) lane to be restricted.

Spartan Contracting is the prime contractor for this $1.5 million bridge preservation project. Work on this project includes sand blasting, repairs, and painting of the steel members. Work on this project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2024.
