Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge replacement project is set to begin on Airport Road (Route 3007) in Northeast Madison Township, Perry County. The bridge spans Bixler Run just south of the intersection with Route 17 (Blain Road).
Weather permitting, work will begin Wednesday, March 29. The bridge will be closed, and a detour will be in place using Route 17 (Blain Road), Route 850, and Route 274 (Shermans Valley Road).
This work is part of a two-bridge contract that includes the rehabilitation of a bridge on Weavers Mill Road (Route 3011) in Tyrone Township, Perry County. Work on that bridge is expected to begin Wednesday, March 22, weather permitting.
Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., of State College, PA is the prime contractor on this $2,398,398 project. Work on this contract is expected to be completed by December 11, 2023.
