Schedule Update: Resurfacing Project to Resume on Route 222 North (Lime Street) in Lancaster City, Lancaster County

​Work originally expected to begin next week; will now begin Monday, March 27

Harrisburg, PA – A resurfacing project originally scheduled to resume next week on Route 222 North (Lime Street) in Lancaster City, Lancaster County, will now begin the following week. 

Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, March 27, with the contractor beginning traffic signal upgrades at the intersections of Lime Street and New Street, Clay Street and Ross Street. This work will be performed from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There will be lane restrictions as needed.

This work is part of a project that consists of milling, paving, base replacement, ADA updates, pavement markings, signal upgrades, and other miscellaneous construction on Route 222 North from the five-point intersection at Church and Vine streets to E. Liberty Street in the city.

Base repairs, milling and paving will be completed this year. Lane closures with a 10-foot width restriction will be in place during this part of the project. 

Motorists may encounter lane closures and traffic shifts during daylight hours. No traffic restrictions will be in place during Barnstormer baseball games.

This project is expected to be completed by September 29, 2023. New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., is the prime contractor on this $2,883,844 project.
