Pipe work Monday on Cornerstone Drive; traffic restrictions planned through the week on Centerville Road and Route 30

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today work will continue next week on the Centerville Road Interchange improvement project in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County.

Weather permitting, on Monday, June 19, the contractor will perform pipe work on Cornerstone Drive at Centerville Road. This work will be from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Flaggers will direct traffic around the work area.

Night work is also planned for next week. On Monday night, the contractor is scheduled to set beams on the Centerville Road bridge spanning westbound Route 30. There will be a lane restriction in place on the Centerville Road bridge from 7:00 PM Monday to 4:00 AM Tuesday. Flaggers will provide traffic control on the bridge during those hours.

Rolling stops of up to 15 minutes in length will be implemented on westbound Route 30 between 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM that night.

There will be lane restrictions on westbound Route 30 from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the night of Tuesday, June 20 through the night of Thursday, June 22, so overhead bridge deck work can be performed.

The night of Thursday night, June 22, the contractor will begin shifting traffic and placing temporary signals at the eastbound and westbound ramp intersections with Centerville Road. There will be a lane restriction on Centerville Road from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM at the interchange for this work.

The contractor also will be resetting barrier Thursday night along the eastbound on- and off ramps. During this time traffic will be controlled by flaggers.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.
