Pipe Replacement Project Begins Next Week on Route 997 in Franklin County

Road will be closed; a detour will be in place

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a department maintenance crew in Franklin County is scheduled to begin a large pipe replacement project next week on Route 997 between Waynesboro and the village of Quincy.

Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, July 10, and will continue for about two weeks. Route 997 will be closed to through traffic. A detour will be in place using Manheim Road, Route 316 and Main Street.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
