Ramps closed for a resurfacing project on Route 22/322 in Perry County and Route 11/15 in Dauphin County,

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that ramps closed this spring for a resurfacing project on Route 22/322 in Perry County and Route 11/15 in Dauphin County, are now open to traffic.

The ramp from southbound Route 11/15 to eastbound Route 22/322, and the ramp from eastbound Route 22/322 to southbound Route 11/15 in Dauphin County were closed May 1 so they could be reconstructed.

The ramps are open to traffic. Detours in place during the closures have been lifted.

Weather permitting, a lane restriction will remain in place through the end of next week on southbound Route 11/15 at the ramps so final paving and guide rail installation can be completed.

This work is part of a project that includes concrete patching, milling, resurfacing, tree removal, minor drainage, guiderail updates, and bridge deck repairs on westbound Route 22/322 in Howe, Buffalo and Watts townships, Perry County. This section of the project extends from east of the Newport Interchange to the Dauphin County line and includes milling and resurfacing the ramps at Watts and Midway.

Also included in this project is resurfacing on eastbound and westbound Route 22/322 in Greenwood Township and Millerstown Borough, Perry County. This work extends from the Juniata County line to Owls Hollow Road.

Work in Dauphin County includes resurfacing on Route 11/15 from the Juniata River bridge to the Perry County line and reconstruction of the eastbound Route 22/322 ramp to southbound Route 11/15, and the southbound Route 11/15 ramp eastbound Route 22/322 in Dauphin County.

Alternating lane restrictions will be in place throughout the project limits through the construction season. No restrictions will be in place during major holidays and fall Penn State home football games.

Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., of State College, PA, is the contractor on this $23,062,322 project.

This project is expected to be completed by October 18, 2024.
