Bridge on Good Road (Route 2071) in Lower Chanceford Township, York County, is Closed to Traffic

Deterioration found during recent bridge inspection

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge on Good Road (Route 2071) in Lower Chanceford Township, York County, is closed to traffic due to deterioration found during a recent bridge inspection. The bridge spans the West Branch of Toms Run between Frosty Hill Road and Stewart Road.

A detour is in place using Ted Wallace Road (Route 2073), Muddy Creek Forks Road (Route 2069) and Frosty Hill Road (Route 2040).

The bridge previously was posted with a 12-ton weight limit and was scheduled to be replaced in 2025. However, to ensure public safety, the bridge is now closed to traffic. The closure will remain in effect until further notice. Good Road averages 116 vehicles per day.
