Lime Street to be closed between King and Vine streets for paving

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Route 222 North (Lime Street), Lancaster City, Lancaster County, will be closed this Thursday, August 3, for paving between King Street and Vine Street. The closure is needed due to the narrow width of the street at this location.

Weather permitting, work will begin at approximately 8:00 AM and be completed by 3:00 PM. Lime Street will be closed from King Street to Vine Street. A detour using local streets will be in place.

Remaining work will be completed with temporary lane restrictions and stoppages for up to 15 minutes for paving through intersections. This may cause delays.

This work is part of a project that consists of milling, paving, base replacement, ADA updates, pavement markings, signal upgrades, and other miscellaneous construction on Route 222 North from the five-point intersection at Church and Vine streets to E. Liberty Street in the city.

This project is expected to be completed by September 29, 2023. New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., is the prime contractor on this $2,883,844 project.
