Upcoming Weekend Work on I-83 in York County Postponed

Rain forecast for this weekend; Bridge deck repairs between Exits 19 and 22 pushed out to the following two weekends

Harrisburg, PA – The concrete bridge deck repairs and bituminous paving planned for this weekend on Interstate 83 between Exit 19 (Route 462/Market Street) and Exit 22 (N. George Street) in York County have been postponed due to the forecast for rain.

This work was scheduled for the weekends of Friday, September 8, through Monday, September 11, and Friday, September 15, through Monday, September 18. 

Due to the potential for rain this weekend, the work has been rescheduled for 9:00 PM Friday, September 15, through 6:00 AM Monday, September 18, and during the same hours Friday, September 22, through Monday, September 25.

There will be no traffic restrictions on I-83 this weekend, However, there will be lane restrictions in place in both directions of I-83 the following two weekends, weather permitting. This could cause delays. Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

This work is associated with a project that includes replacing the Eberts Lane bridge spanning I-83, constructing an additional span to the existing 3-lane, 2-span bridge on Sherman Street (Route 1033) spanning I-83 and Mill Creek, approach work, guide rail updates, pavement marking updates, and other miscellaneous construction
