Utility Work Monday Night on Centerville Road at Interchange Improvement Project in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County

Water main to be installed between Marietta Avenue and Estelle Drive

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that utility work is planned for next Monday night on Centerville Road at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. A contractor is scheduled to install a water main along Centerville Road between Marietta Avenue (Route 23) and Estelle Drive.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 7:00 PM Monday, October 9, to 6:00 AM Tuesday, October 10. Traffic will be shifted with flagging performed as needed 

There may be delays. Motorists should plan extra time for their travels.

This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction. The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed by July 22, 2025.
