Nighttime Lane Restrictions This Week, Next Week on Route 30 at Centerville Road in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County

​Contractor to demolish old Centerville Road bridge; work begins tonight

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today there will be nighttime lane restrictions this week and next week on Route 30 at Centerville Road in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. The restrictions will be in place beginning tonight so the old Centerville Road bridge spanning Route 30 can be demolished.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM tonight, Monday, November 13, through Thursday night, November 16, and during the same hours Sunday night, November 19, through Tuesday night, November 21.

Lane restrictions will be in place in both directions of Route 30 during work hours.

This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction. 

The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed by July 22, 2025.
