Lane Restriction Tomorrow on Centerville Road at Old Tree Drive in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County

​Contractor to perform trench repair; delays expected

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a lane restriction will be in place tomorrow on Centerville Road at Old Tree Drive in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, so a contractor can perform a pipe trench repair at the intersection.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday, January 4. A lane restriction will be in place on Centerville Road. Flaggers will be on hand to direct traffic through the work zone. Old Tree Drive will remain open.

Delays are expected. Travelers should seek alternate routes or plan extra time for their travels.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the intersection.

This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction. 

The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed by July 22, 2025.
