NB I-81 Rest Area Building at Newville, Cumberland County, to be Closed Thursday Morning

Contractor to connect electrical power to newly installed HVAC system; parking area to remain open

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the northbound Interstate 81 (Newville) rest area building in Cumberland County will be closed this Thursday morning. The electricity will be turned off in the building so it can be connected to a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system recently installed in the facility. The rest area is located just north of Exit 37 (Route 233/Newville) in Penn Township.

The building is expected to be closed from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM Thursday, March 28. The parking area will remain open during this time.

The next available rest area is just south of Exit 80 (Grantville/Hershey) in Dauphin County.
