Lane Restrictions Tomorrow on I-83 in York County

03/27/2024

Left lane closures between Exit 19 and Exit 21 for bridge joint inspection/measurements

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today there will be lane restrictions tomorrow on Interstate 83 between Exit 19A and Exit 21A in York County. The left lane of I-83 will be closed in both directions between the exits so bridge joints at the southbound bridge spanning Route 462 (Market Street) and northbound bridge at Loucks Mill Road can be inspected and measured.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday, March 28.

This work may cause congestion or delays. Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

This work is associated with a project that includes replacing the Eberts Lane bridge spanning I-83, constructing an additional span to the existing 3-lane, 2-span bridge on Sherman Street (Route 1033) spanning I-83 and Mill Creek, approach work, guide rail updates, pavement marking updates, and other miscellaneous construction.

Work on the Eberts Lane bridge began last year and is expected to be completed in June, after which work will begin on the Sherman Street bridge. All work is expected to be completed by the end of December 2024.

Deblin, Inc, of Mechanicsburg, PA, is the contractor on this $10,117,734 project.
