Honeymoon Trail (Route 1017) Bridge in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, is Open to Traffic

Two-week detour has been lifted

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the bridge on Honeymoon Trail (Route 1017) in Dauphin County is open to traffic. The bridge, which spans a tributary to Pine Creek between Coleman Church Road and Route 25 near Gratz Borough in Lykens Township, was closed in mid-April for a replacement project.

The detour associated with the closure has been lifted.

This project consists of the replacement of the Honeymoon Trail structure, as well as minor approach work, guide rail updates, and other miscellaneous construction.

Lobar Site Development Corporation of Dillsburg, PA, is the contractor on this $867,557 project. 

All work on this contract is expected to be completed by June 3, 2024.
