Route 274 (Big Spring Road) Resurfacing to Begin Next Week in Perry County

​Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is scheduled to begin next week on Route 274 (Big Spring Road) in Perry County. This 4.25-mile project is in the area of Big Spring State Park in Toboyne Township.

Weather permitting, work will begin Tuesday, May 28. There will be single lane closures under flagging during daylight hours.

This project includes resurfacing, guiderail and minor drainage work and other miscellaneous construction. The contractor performed tree trimming this week and will start resurfacing operations next week.

Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., of State College is the contractor on this $2,488,488 project.

Work is expected to be completed by October 24, 2025.
